3 Secrets to Growing Your Business Faster That Experts Don’t Tell You

Ever get the feeling that some of these so-called business experts are leaving out just enough info to keep you buying courses and wondering what you’re missing?

They give you the “what,” but never the full “how.”

So you end up bouncing between half-written sales pages, half-finished funnels, and a bunch of quick tasks that somehow took all day, still wondering what will actually move the needle.

Been there. Multiple times.

Today we’re getting into three real-deal secrets to running a more profitable business without working 12-hour days or trying to be the CEO, content creator, tech team, and customer support all rolled into one.

If you’ve been wearing all the hats and wondering if the whole freedom-based business thing was just a Pinterest fantasy, this one’s for you.

Secret #1: The Truth About Doing It All Yourself

Somewhere along the line, we picked up the idea that being a solopreneur means literally doing everything ourselves. Like that somehow makes us more legitimate, or like struggling is part of earning your stripes.

I used to think being “self-made” meant never asking for help. So I did it all — emails, content, tech, admin — powered by caffeine and sheer willpower.

It worked, until it didn’t. Usually right when I had something important on, like my kid’s birthday or the one Saturday I actually dared to schedule a nap.

Why this matters

  • Keeps you stuck doing low-impact tasks
  • Leaves no room for growth
  • Drains your energy before you’ve even had a proper coffee
The real shift: Automate what you can

Try this: Pick one repeatable thing and let tech do it for you — welcome emails, call bookings, client onboarding, whatever. It does not need to be fancy, just something you never have to think about again.

Secret #2: Why “I’ll Hire Help Later” Keeps You Stuck

If you’re early in your business and the budget is tight, I get it. Hiring help can feel like a luxury you can’t justify yet.

The thing is, waiting often makes it harder to grow.

I kept telling myself I couldn’t afford to outsource, but the real issue was that I couldn’t afford to keep spending time on stuff that wasn’t actually moving my business forward.

One of my clients finally outsourced a couple of admin tasks she kept putting off — things like sending client invoices and updating her website. With just a couple of hours freed up, she finished the sales page that had been sitting in drafts for months. That one page brought in consistent sales. Funny how that works.

The reality
  • If you’re doing everything, you have no time or energy left for the work that grows your income
  • You don’t need a full team — just a few hours of help where it counts

Try this: Make a list of the tasks you always put off, the ones that drain your energy or sit on your to-do list for too long. That’s your delegation list. Even one or two hours of help a week can shift your capacity.

Secret #3: The Real Shortcut (and no, it’s not more tools)

When things feel messy, it’s tempting to sign up for yet another platform or course because maybe this one will fix it.

Been there. At one point my business looked like I’d subscribed to the entire internet.

The real shortcut: Eliminate what’s not working

Why it works

  • It gives you clarity — you know what to focus on and what can go
  • It cuts out time-wasting tasks that are not helping you grow
  • It frees up headspace to make strategic decisions instead of just treading water

Try this: Do a quick sweep. What software, systems, or strategies are you still paying for or maintaining that are not doing anything for you?

If it’s not helping your clients, your sales, or your sanity, it’s probably not worth keeping.

Your business should feel lean and light — like something you can carry easily, not drag behind you.

So… what now?

If you’re thinking, “Okay, yep — I am doing all the things and slowly drowning in my own systems,” you’ll love this.

I put together the Stop-to-Scale Kit. It walks you through the five things to stop doing now if you want your business to grow without adding more to your plate.

Inside you’ll find:

  • The five mistakes most solopreneurs don’t realise they’re making
  • Why those mistakes keep your business stuck and steal your time
  • A clear, practical way to clean things up and move forward without adding more

If this gave you a lightbulb moment, stick around for more.

Next, I’m sharing how to know when it’s time to take a very important step in your business — one that can help you grow faster and feel more supported.

And just remember:
More isn’t always better.
Sometimes the real power move is doing less, on purpose.
